The National Cherry Festival is the highlight of the Cherry Harvest and it occurs on the first full weekend of December (1-3 December 2017).
The three day celebration will include quirky and colourful festivities including the National Cherry Festival Street Parade, Christmas Street Market, cherry pie eating championships, cherry pip spitting competition, live music, cultural displays, drum and pipes bands and the Young and Region Farmers Market.
With live music from the Red Cherry Jazz, Sing Australia, and the busking competition and exhibitions at the Flat Folk Museum of digitised historical film, the 20th Annual Cherry Festival Photographic Competition and exhibition and the Hanging of the Quilts, to the choirs and parade, The National Cherry Festival has a full and exciting program for the whole weekend.
Only a 2 hour drive from Canberra, the Cherry Festival is a worth while weekend for anyone wanting to enjoy the celebrations of Young’s wonderful cherries.
