State of the Arts has been co-instigated by two writers who have experienced first hand the limited access to professional development opportunities for writers outside of urban centers. With a strong desire to right the misrepresentation of their local communities, they have joined forces and are dedicated to paying it forward.

Lucinda (right) is a NSW south coast native, arts writer, casual academic and Twitter addict.
She is a Phd candidate at the Australian National University, graduate in Art Theory (Honours) from the University of New South Wales, former editor of the critical arts journal, Framework, professional arts writer, and has worked with galleries and creative organisations in program management, arts administration and curatorship in Sydney and along the south coast.

Natalie (left) is a Macarthur region native, writer, public speaker and creative instigator.
Natalie has a Bachelor Art History/Theory (Honors I) and has experience working with commercial, not-for-profits and independent art organisations. In 2012 she founded Wadwell Initiatives to independently instigate her own community cultural development programs in public spaces. She is a fellow with the School for Social Entrepreneurs (SSE) and was named a Young Social Pioneer with the Foundation for Young Australians.
In her spare time Natalie can be found hula hooping around the suburbs.
